Installation:

Windows:

To install the plug-in on the Windows platform, first quit
FileMaker Pro if it is open. Next unzip the contents of the
SAVEit zip file into a directory. After you have unziped the
zip file into a directory, you should find a file in that
directory named "SAVEit.fmx" This is the plug-in file. Copy this
file to the directory named "System" inside your FileMaker Pro
application directory. This directory is usually on your hard
drive in a directory similar to this:

c:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro\System\

The next time you open FileMaker Pro the plug-in will automatically
be active.

Macintosh:

To install the plug-in on the Macintosh platform, first quit
FileMaker Pro if it is open. Next unstuff the contents of the
SAVEit Stuffit file into a folder. After you have unstuffed the
Stuffit file into a folder, run the SAVEit_Installer application.

The installer will place the SAVEit Plug-in file into the
"FileMaker Extensions" folder located in your FileMaker Pro 4.x/5.x
directory. If you have a previous version of SAVEit installed, the
installer will overwrite it. The next time you open FileMaker Pro
the plug-in will automatically be active.

After installation, you can start up FileMaker Pro, and the
plug-in should automatically be active. You can then open the
"SAVEit_Example.fp5" database to begin exploring SAVEit.

Quick Start:

Once you have installed the plug-in as described above, make
sure to go to Edit->Preferences->Application, click on the
Plug-ins tab, and double-click the SAVEit plug-in to begin
configuring it.

Once in the Configuration Dialog, click the "Basics" tab and make
sure that everything is set how you want it. For a complete
description of the Configuration Dialog, please read through the
SAVEit Guide included with this archive.

To begin using SAVEit open the SAVEit_Example database which will
guide you through some of the features of the plug-in.

SAVEit History:

-- 8-16-2000 SAVEit 1.5 Released (Mac and Win)
This version changes the way the "body" of the text file is
assigned. Instead of taking the text in the "Save" and
"Append" functions, it uses "BodyAssign" and "BodyAppend"
in the same fashion as SMTPit.

-- 6-14-99 SAVEit 1.2 (Win) Released to the public

Known Issues:

-- Macintosh: When the Configuration Dialog is open, if you drag the
dialog over a FileMaker database, the FileMaker Database will not
always be redrawn. We are attempting to fix this. Work arounds include
not draging the Configuation Dialog, or after closing, you can collapse
and re-expand the window, or hide and re-show the window.
